We spend the day today doing what we enjoy the most... lunch at my Nanny's followed by some front porch sitting with our favorites!!
Check out Little Man's lunch... a hamburger bun. He has NEVER liked bread... won't even try it. I have tried to feed it to him, let him feed himself, nothing, nada. As Nanny's was finishing the lunch, he grunted and whined until she gave him a hamburger bun, and he was completely content... pinching off little bites and destroying that bun.
And to all those who are cringing that a mom would let their 1 year old eat bread for lunch, check out the oranges beside it.. he ate those too. :)
After we ate, and sat and chit-chatted awhile, we loaded up and headed out to the cemetery to see the flowers. This is a foot stone on my uncle's grave that no one could bear read, in fear of shedding tears again this year.
It reads:
"When I come to the end of the day and the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little but not too
long and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love we once shared- miss me but let me go
For this is a journey we all must take and each must go alone
It's all a part of the maker's plan, a step on the road to home
When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we
know and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds-
miss me but let me go."
